I just released new versions for four of my plugins, making sure that all of them now officially are working fine with WordPress 6.8 – and have a lot more features.

Embed Privacy

The biggest update came for Embed Privacy – of course, since it’s by far my most successful plugin. Most noteworthy are support for the oEmbed providers Bluesky and Canva, which were added in WordPress 6.6 and 6.8 respectively. Also, support for ActivityPub posts has been improved, so that you can now use local ActivityPub posts, which makes it similar to using local tweets from X/Twitter.

If you developed custom code around Embed Privacy, please make sure to read the migration guide for Embed Privacy 1.11.0.

Impressum

The free Impressum plugin just got a new tiny update, mainly code improvements, but also getting rid of a notice that prevents loading its translations in a more performant way, which has been added due to changes in translation loading in WordPress 6.7 and 6.8. It’s now also officially compatible with the latest WordPress version.

Block Control

For Block Control, there is a new option available to hide a block for any paged page, e.g. on page 2 of an archive, or every even page. You can also define custom page numbers where the block should be hidden if the defaults are not enough for you.

Multisite Auto Language Switcher

Last, but not least, the Multisite Auto Language Switcher got two new features. One is that the parameter redirected-locale=1 is now being removed after a redirect, and the other is that users can now define in their profile if they don’t want to be redirected, making the process more user-friendly.
