Accessibility Information with Impressum Plus

At the end of the month, on June 28th, 2025, to be more specific, new laws in the EU come into effect to strengthen the accessibility of products and services. With Impressum Plus in its latest version 2.13.0, you can now generate the required accessibility information.
At least for Germany (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz – BFSG) and Austria (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz – BaFG) explicitly define the requirement of an accessibility information with different parts of information, which can largely be generated automatically. Thus, Impressum Plus 2.13.0 does so, if you are affected by this law (which means in either having more than 10 employees or over 2 Mio. € in revenue per year).
The only thing required is than a description of your service/product(s) and whether they are accessible in terms of the law (which they should). If they are not, you can explicitly state why they’re not. But keep in mind, that the barrier for inaccessible products are set very high. In general, you have to make sure that everything is accessible. And you also should want it anyways to attract a larger customer base.
Having set the data required, you can output the accessibility information where you want, either via block for the block editor or via shortcode.
Of course, Impressum Plus also allows you to retrieve/set all the data via API and WP-CLI, just as you might already be familiar with from the imprint or privacy policy.
That’s it
That were the biggest changes for Impressum Plus 2.13.0. For all changes, please visit the changelog in the documentation.
