Iā€™m happy to be able to announce the availability of the newest Form Block version 1.5.0, which comes with some great new features, that means a new block, support for new output formats and more accessibility features.

Input group block

The biggest visible change is the ā€œFieldsetā€ block, which adds, as its name suggests, an HTML fieldset element to group fields and gives them a more specific context. This is already used within the custom date and time related fields with separated fields in an automatic way, but is now also available for everyone to use manually.

Besides such fields, it can be used for something like grouping separated credit card fields or multiple choice questions.

Accessibility features

Form Block is already designed with accessibility in mind and properly prepared to be used as accessible as possible. With this new version 1.5.0, there is now support for all different values of the autocomplete attribute, which allows browsers to autofill such fields. Also, the spellcheck attribute is now explicitly supported to allow the browser to spell check inputs of the user. Additionally, you can now give a whole form an accessible label so that users can directly jump to the form via landmarks with their screen reader. For more information on landmarks, read this great post from Stefan Judis: Forms without an accessible name are not exposed as ARIA landmarks

List support

Lists can be used to nest field values. By adding support for it, you can output field values in the email in a nested way. This is a basic implementation and will maybe see additional changes in the future, especially when the next feature release of Form Block Pro will add support for repeater fields.

Thatā€™s it

That were the biggest changes for Form Block 1.5.0. For all changes, please visit the changelog.
